James out of Surgery!

James came through great and Dr. Neligan finished quicker than anticipated. James did have more bleeding than expected and required 26 units of O-Positive Blood. I know the blood bank would be appreciative of any donations of O-Positive blood to restock their supply.

James may be in the ICU until Saturday, but he looks "beautiful" says his friend Ellen who will be by his side all night. The doctor showed her photos of him before wrapping his face up, and Ellen couldn't believe how fantastic he looked. She says the swelling is setting in now, but he's going to look wonderful.

The surgeon believes minor procedures every five years should keep up with the slow, anticipated growth of the tumor.

Watch KOMO's story as they were inside the OR with James.

I donated O-positive blood to Puget Sound Blood Center this past Monday in Bellevue and I hope that it was able to help James out. Best wishes for a speedy and comfortable recovery from the surgery.
